McDaniel competes at Centennial Conference Championships
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Chris Stinnette (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles to lead McDaniel at the 2008 Centennial Conference men’s and women’s outdoor track and field championships hosted by Gettysburg on Friday through Sunday. Stinnette led the Green Terror men to a ninth-place finish with 11 points. Haverford won its 15th straight title with 184 points. The McDaniel women placed 10th with six points. Haverford made it a sweep, taking the women’s crown with 215 points, 46 points ahead of the host Bullets.
After ranking fifth in the preliminaries with a time of 58.01 seconds, Stinnette improved a spot in the final, covering the lap in a time of 58.28.
Erin Balsamo (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) led the women with a fifth-place finish in the heptathlon, totaling 2,639 points. Her best showing in the seven-event medley was a second in the shot put with a throw of 7.98 meters.
Rachel McCallum (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 4.68 meters.
