McDaniel women finish seventh at Messiah; Green Terror men place 12th
GRANTHAM, Pa. – Rachel McCallum (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) recorded a pair of first-place finishes, including a meet record, to lead the McDaniel women’s outdoor track and field team to a seventh-place showing at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday. The Green Terror women finished with 38 points. Messiah won the team title with 222 points. On the men’s side, McDaniel finished 12th with 20 points. Bridgewater took the team crown with 151 points.
McCallum crossed first in the 100 meters, breaking the previous meet record of 12.62 seconds by 0.13 seconds. McCallum also won the long jump with a distance of 5.30 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay added a second-place showing with a combined time of 4:24.80 while the 4x100-meter relay crossed fifth with a time of 52.12.
Kristin Duling (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) added a sixth-place showing in the 400 (1:04.67).
On the men’s side, Jason Maier (New Milford, N.J./New Milford) and Chris Prior (Westminster, Md./Westminster) led the way in the field events. Maier was fourth in the shot put (13.48 meters) while Prior finished seventh in the javelin (47.02 meters).
On the track, Chris Stinnette (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) led the way with a fourth-place showing in the 400 hurdles (58.37). The 4x800-meter relay added a fourth-place finish with a time of 8:25.29.
McDaniel returns to action at the Millersville Distance Classic on Friday.
