Rosemier named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II team
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Diana Rosemier (Damascus, MD/Damascus), a senior on the McDaniel College softball team, was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division first team on Thursday. Rosemier, an outfielder, earned her second consecutive nod to the first team. One of four members of the first team with a 4.00 GPA, the sociology/psychology major now advances to the Academic All-America team, which will be released on May 28.
Rosemier, a first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection, led the team in 10 offensive categories. In addition to hitting a team-best .330, she rapped out seven doubles and two triples for a .431 slugging percentage. She led the team with 36 hits and 31 runs scored. She also drew 17 walks from the leadoff position. A repeat selection to the first team, Rosemier stole 39 bases, breaking her own program and conference record for swipes in a season. With 101 career stolen bases, she broke the CC record of 100, set by Muhlenberg’s Ali Hatola from 1996-99.
The members of the College Sports Information Directors of America select the All-District Team. The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or a significant reserve.
The Green Terror finished the season at 13-23 overall and 7-9 in CC play.
