Susquehanna sinks McDaniel
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Jeffrey Fornadley recorded a two-win day to lead Susquehanna to a 111-67 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men’s swimming action on Saturday. The Crusader men (11-0) touched first in five of the 10 scored events. Chris Reed (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Stephen Gomez (Charlottesville, Va./Albermmarle) led the Green Terror (1-6) with two wins apiece.
On the women’s side, Susquehanna (8-4), behind two-win days from Lindsey Jankiewicz and Lauren Snyder, also downed McDaniel (1-6), 111.5-83.5.
Fornadley recorded wins in the 200 free (1:52.29) and 100 free (48.52).
Reed earned victories in the 200 IM (2:07.29) and 200 breaststroke (2:20.90) while Gomez touched first in the 200 butterfly (2:02.74) and 500 free (5:05.72).
For the women, Jankiewicz swam the leadoff leg of the 400 medley relay that opened the meet with a victory. Teamed with Lindsey Moretti, Melissa Gilpin and Julie Yingling, the quartet combined to post a time of 4;25.65.
Jankiewicz was also a winner in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:24.33.
Snyder won the two longest events, touching first in the 500 (5:38.66) and 1000 (11:37.03) free.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Franklin & Marshall on Friday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
