McDaniel downs Bryn Mawr, 145-114
BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Whitney Schieren (Yardley, Pa./Penington) recorded four wins to lead McDaniel to a 145-114 victory over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women’s swimming action on Saturday. The Green Terror (2-7, 2-4 CC) and Owls (1-8, 0-6 CC) split victories on the day, each recording wins in seven events.
The 200 medley relay team of Kaiti Reynolds (Newark, Del./Sanford), Danielle Smith, Schieren and Kaite Dorian (Newtown Square, Pa./Notre Dame Academy) opened the day, taking first with a time of 2:04.95.
Along with the relay win, Smith added two individual wins on the day, touching first in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes in times of 1:18.04 and 2:49.54, respectively.
Schieren added individual victories in the 200 butterfly (2:25.85), 100 butterfly (1:03.98) and 200 IM (2:28.65).
The Green Terror’s final win of the day came in the meet-ending 400 free relay, where Dorian, Amanda Burke (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven), Alyssa Romasco (Gilberstville, Pa./Perkiomen) and Gaby Cifuentes (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) combined for a time of 4:00.79.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
