WESTMINSTER, Md. – Taylor Herrgott (Derwood, Md./Magruder) and Lanni Reisinger (Lemoyne, Pa./Cedar Cliff) each recorded 17 kills to lead McDaniel in a split of its season-opening non-conference volleyball quad match on Saturday.
Senior Katie Seibel (Finksburg Md./Westminster) and Reisinger each recorded five kills in the first match-up against Elizabethtown. The Green Terror (1-1) fell to the Blue Jays (2-0) in three games, 30-7, 30-28, 30-15.
McDaniel bounced back to win the consolation match over Richard Stockton (0-2) in five games, 20-30, 30-22, 19-30, 30-25, 15-8.
Against Elizabethtown, Paige Turner tallied eight points in the game-one rout.
Kristen Nuckles (Sussex, Va./Nanesemon- Suffolk Academy) added 17 assists while Caroline Rushe (Dover, Del./Dover) tallied a team-high 11 digs.
Hergott posted six blocks for the Green Terror.
Against the Ospreys, Hergott delivered a team-high 13 kills while Reisinger added 12.
Two McDaniel players tallied 20-plus digs. Reisinger led the way with 22 for her first collegiate double-double. Alice Hardwick (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) added 20 digs.
Junior Kristie Fourcade (Ijamsville, Md./St. John’s at Prospect Hall) added a team-high 35 assists.
The Green Terror returns to action at Goucher on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
