McDaniel keeps rolling with eighth straight win at Dickinson
CARLISLE, Pa. – Taylor Herrgott (Derwood, Md./Magruder) recorded 19 kills, two aces and five total blocks to lead McDaniel to a 3-1 win at Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Wednesday.
The Green Terror (11-4, 6-0 CC) dropped the first game 30-19 before winning three straight games, 30-23, 30-20, 31-29, to win its eighth match in a row – the second consecutive season the squad has reeled off eight straight victories.
Elly Gosheva led the Red Devils (7-13, 3-2 CC) with a match-high 25 kills.
Deanne Lehr (New Oxford, Pa./Bermudian Springs) was a kill shy of her second straight double-double, finishing with nine kills and 23 digs. Alice Hardwick (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) added 21 digs to a defense that tallied 77 digs.
Kristen Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk) added 40 assists while Katie Seibel (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) and Lanni Reisinger (Lemoyne, Pa./Cedar Cliff) added 11 and 10 kills, respectively, to the offense. Reisinger added 10 digs to finish off her third double-double of the year.
McDaniel returns to action at home in its own Green Terror Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Green Terror opens play in the tournament against St. Mary’s (Minn.) on Friday at 5 p.m.
