McDaniel finishes second at own invitational

 
 
HAMPSTEAD, Md. – Valerie Saucier (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) shot a two-day score of 173 to lead McDaniel to a second-place showing at its own fall invitational in women’s golf action on Sunday and Monday.
            Saucier shot an 85 on Sunday and an 88 on Monday to finish fourth overall and help the Green Terror finish with 806 strokes. Allegheny won the team title with a combined score of 689. Kellie Gustas was crowned the individual medalist with a two-day score of 165, edging out her teammate Laura Hilger after going to Monday’s score on the No. 3 handicap hole
            Jennie Weiner (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) shot matching rounds of 99 to finish with a 198 and in 10th place.
            Elyse Massa (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) posted a score of 102 on Monday after carding a 109 to finish with a two-day score of 211 and finish 11th overall.
            Amy Glock (Lineboro, Md./Hereford) matched rounds of 112 to finish with a 224 in 12th place while Tara Fredericks (Fairfield, Pa./Fairfield) finished 13th with a 256 (129-127).
            Competing as an individual, Colleen McLaughlin (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Ridge and Latin) shot a 269 (135-134) to finish 14th.
            McDaniel returns to action in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in March.
