WESTMINSTER, Md. – Erinn Hopkins (Monrovia, Md., Urbana) recorded a career-high 11 points, tallying eight goals and adding three assists to lead the McDaniel to a 22-16 win over Muhlenberg in the first round of 2008 Centennial Conference (CC) women’s lacrosse championships on Wednesday.
Hopkins finished one goal and one point shy of the program record to propel the Green Terror (10-6) into the CC semifinals for the second consecutive season. McDaniel will meet top-seeded and No. 2-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Saturday in Lancaster, Pa.

Trailing 8-6 with 6:27 to play in the opening half, the Green Terror tallied the next four goals and never trailed again.
Jennifer Stone (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven), who finished with three goals, three assists and three draw controls, started the rally before Hopkins scored on either side of the intermission to give McDaniel its first lead of the game, 9-8.
Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster) stretched the lead to 10-8 with 2:39 elapsed in the second half.
After tallies from Ruth Morrongiello and Amanda McGovern knotted the game at 10-all, Stephanie Sudbrook (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) converted one of five Green Terror free-position goals and Hopkins added her fifth of the day to reestablish the two-goal advantage.
McGovern and Rachael Goldstein knotted the game for the final time with 20:43 to play before Brittany Lines (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) started a four-goal flurry over a 3-minute, 16-second span to push the lead to 16-12 at the 43:20 mark.
Baer capped her four-goal, three-assist day with a second to play, putting in her 60th goal of the season to tie the program record for goals in a season.
Alyssa Bascelli opened the game with an unassisted goal just 22 seconds into play, keying the 3-0 start.
Baer found Kelly Scheler (Forest Hills, Md./C. Milton Wright) at the 5:24 mark to break up the run before Chelsea Ferruzzi (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) finished a solo run just 39 seconds later pull the hosts within 3-2.
