Hacker leads Muhlenberg to 2-1 overtime triumph over McDaniel

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Kasey Hacker scored both Muhlenberg goals in a 2-1 overtime victory over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference (CC) women’s soccer opener for both teams on Saturday.
Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster) got the Green Terror (0-6, 0-1 CC) on the board in the game’s first four minutes but the Mules (3-1-2, 1-0 CC) came back to notch their second straight 2-1 overtime victory in the series.
After Baer rebounded her own shot-and-save just 3:46 into the game, Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill), who made 14 saves in the game, kept Muhlenberg off the board until the 69th minute.
At the 68:16 mark, Hacker blasted a shot from 25 yards out to knot the game at 1.
Just 3:27 into the first extra session, Ashley O’Grady crossed a ball from the left that Hacker deflected in the goal for the win.
Kate Morrissey recorded two saves for the Mules.
McDaniel had a 28-6 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
