Swarthmore makes early goal stand
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Danielle Tochette scored the just 2 minutes, 26 seconds into the game to lift 19th-ranked Swarthmore to a 1-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women’s soccer action on Saturday.
Sophomore Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./ Winters Mill) recorded 13 saves for the Green Terror (1-8, 1-2 CC), who dropped its second consecutive 1-0 game and fourth one-goal defeat of the season.
Tocchet kept the Garnet (7-0, 3-0 CC) undefeated on the season, finishing an unassisted tally on the squad’s second shot of the game.
Swarthmore finished with a 23-2 advantage in shots and an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks. Lauren Walker saved both McDaniel shots.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Villa Julie on Tuesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
