Haverford earns final playoff spot with 2-0 win over McDaniel
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Lauren Kibbe scored the first goal for Haverford in a 2-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women’s soccer action on Saturday.
Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) recorded nine saves for the Green Terror (3-15, 2-8 CC), who were outshot by the Fords (9-6-2, 6-2-2 CC) by an 18-13 edge.
Haverford, who could secure the final spot in the CC playoffs next week with a win, got a goal in each half to do just that.
Kibbe finished a Ryan Hedrick assist at the 18:50 mark before Erin Dowling passed to Hana Rosen in the 56th minute to set the final margin.
Lindsay Festa recorded seven saves on the day for the Fords.
