Franklin & Marshall blanks McDaniel
LANCASTER, Pa. – Amy Cawley recorded two assists to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 3-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women’s soccer action on Saturday.
The Diplomats (8-2, 4-1 CC) held the Green Terror (4-7, 1-3 CC) to just two shots while taking 27 of their own. Franklin & Marshall also finished with a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made 10 saves for McDaniel.
Franklin & Marshall built a 1-0 lead just 6:15 into the game when Danielle David gathered a loose ball out of the air, beat two defenders and found the right corner of the net.
Just 2:31 into the second half, Meaghan Mancini doubled the advantage. Cawley crossed the ball from the left side where Mancini fired a shot from 10 yards out for the goal.
Just over 17 minutes later, Shannon Summers made it 3-0, heading in a Cawley cross from the right side.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
