Andrew Knox
Head Coach

Knox enters his first season at the helm of the McDaniel men's and women's tennis programs.

A 1994 graduate of the University of South Florida, Knox has extensive teaching experience and is a USPTR and USPTA certified tennis pro.

Since 2001 he has been a private tennis instructor in Gettysburg, teaching private and group lessons to advanced and intermediate players in the area.

He most recently spent the last three seasons as the head boy’s and girl’s tennis coach at Gettysburg High School.

After serving as an assistant with the same program for the 2001-02 season, he coached the girl’s squad to a district title and the top doubles team in Pennsylvania.

Prior to his time with the Warriors, Knox ran stroke and drill clinics for advanced and intermediate players at the Sea Pines Racquet Club in Hilton Head, S.C., from 1996-2001.

While there, he coordinated the round robin clinics as well as Junior Tournaments. He was also involved with the Family Circle Cup Women’s Tournament, where he served as a hitting partner to many of the professional players.

He also spent time at Van Der Meer Tennis University in Hilton Head where he was involved in all aspects of coaching, teaching and clinics at the facilities in addition to coaching advanced juniors in the Sweet Briar Summer Camp.

In 1994, he served as head pro at the Marriott Resorts in Hilton Head, controlling stroke and drill clinics for timeshare guests. He also coordinated private lessons.

During his first four years in the Hilton Head area, Knox also attended the Savannah School of Graphic Arts and Design, earning a degree in computer 3D rendering and modeling.
