McDaniel takes 12th at Navy Classic
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Andrew Winfield (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) went 1-2 at the 174-pound weight class and recorded the only win for McDaniel at the Navy Classic on Saturday.
The Green Terror finished with five points, taking 12th place. Bloomsburg won the 12-team tournament in first place, recording 161.5 points while Navy was second with 140.
After receiving a bye in the first round, Winfield defeated Navy’s Anthony Laurita 7-4 in the tiebreaker round before falling to Bucknell’s Shane Riccio. He was pinned by Rob Waltko (Bucknell) in the consolation bracket.
McDaniel returns to action at Centenary on Dec. 8. Meet time is 4:30 p.m.
