Johns Hopkins downs McDaniel, 23-16

BALTIMORE, Md. – Ben Kauffman recorded a pin in 3:44 at the 141-pound weight class to key a 23-16 victory for Johns Hopkins over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) wrestling action on Wednesday.
            After a Tim Hall (Westminster, Md./Westminster) 13-0 major decision gave the Green Terror (3-10, 0-3 CC) and early 4-0 lead, the Blue Jays (4-11, 3-1 CC) won the next four bouts to open a 13-4 lead.
           Zack Hetrick (Hanover, Pa./South Western) snapped the stretch with a pin in 1:50 to pull McDaniel with three.
           Patrick Stanley (165) countered with a 9-0 major decision to stretch the lead back to 17-10.
           The squads split the final four bouts with a quartet of decisions.
           McDaniel returns to action at the Bridgewater Invitational on Saturday.
