More than 90% of McDaniel College students receive some type of financial assistance. We invest nearly $55 million annually in need-based grants and merit scholarships to ensure that students from all kinds of financial backgrounds are able to experience a McDaniel education. 

 

Our financial aid staff is here to help make the process go smoothly for you. This is especially important with the anticipated changes to the FAFSA for the 2024-2025 academic year. As we navigate these changes together, we aim to provide timely, clear and helpful information for your family.

Types of Financial Aid

There are many types of financial aid available to students pursuing a degree at McDaniel College. These can include grants, scholarships, student loans, and work-study programs. Financial aid specialists at McDaniel College can help you understand the financial aid opportunities available to you.

Campus Fall 2022

Visit Incentive Grant Undergraduate students only

Schedule an official in-person campus visit to McDaniel before you complete your application to qualify for the Visit Incentive Grant valued at $4,000 ($1,000 per year).

Scholarships Undergraduate students only

Merit scholarships are awarded to students based on the overall quality of their application for admission, including academic preparation and performance, leadership, community engagement and more.

Need-Based Grants Undergraduate students only

Need-based grants can be provided by the federal government, the state government or McDaniel College. Need-based grants are subject to change annually when you submit a new FAFSA.

Over 70% of college students nationwide utilize student loans to help fund their education. For many families, student and parent loans are an important piece of college financing.
