Common Ground

Common Ground picture of a party

Explore interdisciplinary and roots-based studies, spend time with visiting scholars, artists, film makers, and musicians and study with McDaniel faculty in a non-traditional setting.

Common Ground on the Hill, now celebrating its 20th year in residence at McDaniel College, is built around the international community of musicians, artists, dancers, poets, and scholars that assemble each year during July for Common Ground’s Tradition Weeks. Students of all ages are encouraged to enroll, whether for non-credit or credit, to share and learn new skills. In this way, we believe that we can improve ourselves, our communities and our world as we meet, share and celebrate our arts and cultures on “common ground.” Families are encouraged to attend.
