Autumn on the Hill

August 06, 2008

There’s nothing quite like fall on the Hill. The red, amber and golden hues of autumn replace green – except of course for the green in Green Terror. It’s a time to get back to academics for sure, but it’s also a great time to tailgate, reunite with college friends, and catch up with McDaniel students who left home just a few months earlier.

All the details aren’t yet complete, but here are some important dates to mark on your calendars now. Look for more, including a lecture by Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Christopher Molem from Cameroon, after the academic year begins on August 25.

Families Weekend – a perfect time to learn about what student life is all about – kicks off on Friday, Sept. 26. Look for a full day of activities on Saturday, Sept. 27, including tailgating on the rim of McDaniel’s famed drive-in stadium as the Green Terror takes on Dickinson College. The men’s soccer team also plans a win against Ursinus College. For registration and more information, go to Families Weekend online.

Homecoming on Nov. 8 features the now famous noon parade of floats moving along Main Street before Green Terror football takes on Gettysburg College at 1 p.m.. Enjoy taking a stroll around campus and visit the Klitzberg Pavilion to view this year’s Sports Hall of Fame inductees on the e-kiosk.

McDaniel Theatre presents “Troy Women” in WMC Alumni Hall Oct. 1-4.

Home football games are Sept. 13 against Moravian, Sept. 27 against Dickinson, Oct. 18 against Muhlenberg, and Nov. 8 against Gettysburg.
