In “Between the Lines” by Regina Taylor and directed by McDaniel senior Yichong Li of Nanjing, China, Becca and Nina set off on an unpredictable journey. While Nina stays home to pursue a career, Becca empties her trust fund to travel the globe. Soon Becca’s adventures fuel Nina’s discomfort with a life devoid of real passion, intimacy and romance. When Becca returns, Nina’s already primed to make a few radical – and violent – changes.
The cast includes senior Simone Davis of Baltimore, sophomores Elizabeth Flores of Westminster, Md., Sarah Hull of Keedysville, Md., Chesney Jamieson of La Plata, Md., and Ashley Manning of Randallstown, Md., and freshmen Erin Brown of Burbank, Calif., Malcolm Jones of Annapolis, Md., and John Wontrop of Glen Arm, Md.
“Crazy Eights” by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by McDaniel senior Kiera Gillock of Cranston, R.I., is a beguiling slice of life comedy that examines a blossoming, awkward romance between Connie and her parole officer. When Connie comes home late one night, she finds her parole officer waiting in her apartment with a torte and a long list of questions. The interrogation/courting dance that follows is complicated by the after-hours arrival of Connie’s charming card-playing buddy.
The cast includes senior Shelley Hierstetter of Mount Airy, Md., junior Paul Davis Griffin of Westminster, Md., and sophomore Najee Banks of Baltimore.
