The McDaniel College Department of Music presents “An Evening of Madrigals” at 7:30 p.m. May 5 in Baker Chapel. The Madrigals, McDaniel’s premier vocal ensemble under the direction of Music Professor Margaret Boudreaux, will perform unaccompanied love songs and read poetry related to the songs. “The evening will be filled with splendor, wonder, and fun,” says Boudreaux. “Lots of audience participation will be encouraged.” For more information, call 410-857-2599.

The McDaniel College Department of Music presents the Student Solo Recital at 7 p.m. May 6 in McDaniel Lounge. The recital will feature a selection of vocal and instrumental soloists performing a wide variety of music spanning from classical to contemporary. For more information, call 410-857-2599.

The McDaniel College Department of Music presents Jazz Night at 8 p.m. May 8 in Decker Center Forum. The program includes performances from three classes and members of the Department's voice studio, all directed by Music faculty member Bo Eckard. Ensembles include the 18-piece Thursday Jazz Ensemble, the 19-piece Monday Jazz Ensemble, and the five-piece Jazz Combo, playing big band swing, bebop, Latin, Funk, Jazz-rock and Tin Pan Alley. The McDaniel College Department of Music presents the College Band Concert at 7 p.m. May 9 in WMC Alumni Hall. The concert, under the direction of Music faculty member Linda Kirkpatrick, features 50 musicians, including 40 McDaniel students in addition to faculty members and community musicians. The program will feature “Ride” by Samuel R. Hazo, “When Jesus Wept” by William Schumann, “First Suite in Eb” by Gustav Holst and more. For more information, call 410-857-2599.

The McDaniel College Department of Music presents the Gospel Choir Concert at 7:30 p.m. May 10 in Baker Memorial Chapel.
