    McDaniel’s Maryland Beta chapter of the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity wins awards at biennial convention

    McDaniel College’s Maryland Beta chapter of the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity was recognized with four national awards at the fraternity’s biennial convention held June 19-22 in Atlanta. The Alumni Club of Metro Detroit, which is chaired by Don Schenk ’71, was also recognized. McDaniel's Maryland Beta chapter was established in April 1971 and currently has nearly 750 members.

    Rising senior earns Gilman Scholarship to study abroad

    A Biology major with minors in Chemistry and Arabic at McDaniel, Hira Khan is among 3,500 undergraduate students selected from 17,000 applicants nationwide by the U.S. Department of State to represent the United States as a Gilman Scholar. She will study in Hong Kong during the fall 2025 semester.

    Two top Maryland teachers have ties to McDaniel

    Two of Maryland’s top teachers for the 2025-26 school year have ties to McDaniel College’s Graduate and Professional Studies programs. Calvert County Teacher of the Year William Voshell holds a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), while Carroll County Teacher of the Year Amy Glascock achieved National Board Certification through McDaniel’s first cohort of a three-semester graduate course sequence and is currently teaching as an online adjunct lecturer in the program.
