McDaniel, Carroll colleges participate in day of community service
The group will help the Parks and Recreation Council do park maintenance, cleaning and painting at the Boys and Girls Club, and yard work for the organization Caring Carroll, among others.
The event is coordinated by Naomi Raphael, McDaniel’s Liaison for Community Outreach and Service.
“We’re really trying to bring the colleges and the community closer together,” she said. “And, it’s a great way for college students to get off campus and be a part of the community.”
The Day of Service is part of a weeklong celebration of the Inauguration of McDaniel’s new president, Dr. Roger Casey, culminating in a grand ceremony at 2:30 p.m. April 16 on campus in the Gill Center.
