McDaniel College, Boys & Girls Club of Westminster form partnership
A signing ceremony recently was held at the Boys & Girls Club on Union Street to mark the occasion and to dedicate a newly opened fence and stairway along the border between the college and organization’s property.
McDaniel President Roger N. Casey and Beth Tevis ’77, M.Ed ’84, chair of Boys & Girls Club of Westminster, each signed two copies of the partnership agreement to formalize a renewed commitment to an enhanced relationship.

“I hope this is the beginning of an even deeper relationship that’s going to change a lot of lives,” Casey said.
Tiffany Gill, executive director of the Westminster branch of the Boys & Girls Club, added, “We are knocking barriers down. Students will be able to see what college life is like and see themselves there.”
The partnership means kids from the Boys & Girls Club will gain greater access to the college’s facilities, cultural activities and events. The college also plans to sponsor a “College Shadow Day” to enable the children to spend a day on campus with a student.
The Westminster branch is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a national organization that provides programs to help youngsters become productive, caring, responsible people.
