McDaniel masquerade party-goers step right from pages of literature

February 20, 2012

A Literally Literary Masquerade hosted by the McDaniel Honors Program filled McDaniel Lounge Feb. 10 with such famous and infamous characters as Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Norman Mailer, the Mad Hatter and even a Yellow Brick Road – all favorites of the party-goers.

Inspired by C.S. Lewis’ novel, juniors Catherine O’Keeffe, Luke Schmidt and Rebekah James came dressed as a lion, a witch and a wardrobe.

Juniors Casey Dunn and Alexandra Zimbicki, dressed as Alice and the Mad Hatter, with sophomore Olivia Brundage and friend Jen Bock as Tweedledee and Tweedledum from Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking Glass.”

Junior Morgan Thomas as The Traveler from H.G. Wells’ “Time Machine” with Honors president senior Rhaelynn Givens dressed as the yellow-brick road from L. Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”
