Written by John Cariani, “Almost, Maine” is comprised of nine short plays examining love and loss in a remote, mythical place called Almost, Maine.
Director Ray Ficca returns to McDaniel where he performed as a company member for eight seasons in the college’s former professional summer resident theatre, Theatre on the Hill.
About choosing “Almost, Maine” for the McDaniel students to perform, he said, “While every theatre student should be well versed in the classics, I also think that students need to always be anxious to explore what is happening in the industry today. I wanted to introduce the McDaniel theatre students to a new and very popular play.”
The cast includes seniors Cat Black of Springfield, Va., and Katalin Szoboszlay of Highland, Md., junior Shelley Hierstetter of Mt. Airy, Md., sophomores Alissa Beckett of Medford, N.J.; Kelsey Gondek of Avondale, Pa., and Paul Davis Griffin of Westminster, Md., and freshmen Najee Banks of Baltimore; Liz Flores of Sykesville, Md.; Daniel Valentin-Morales of Frederick, Md., and Adrian Rowe, Jr., of Edgewood, Md.
