New athletics website debuts to cheers

September 08, 2009

Green Terror fans will find it easier than ever to stay connected to their favorite team via the new McDaniel athletics website, www.mcdanielathletics.com.

“We’re thrilled with it,” said McDaniel Athletics Director Jamie Smith. “The response has been really positive.”

The site, funded by the Green & Gold Club, features headline news, athletes of the week, a game scoreboard, a “Stay Connected” link, dozens of action photos and more. Much more.

Fans can click on a link to watch a live broadcast of home football, field hockey, baseball, softball and men’s and women’s basketball, soccer and lacrosse games. Or, they can listen to WTTR’s broadcast during or after the games.

No time to watch or listen? Click on the “Keep Score” box to receive timely e-mail updates of what’s happening in any one or all of McDaniel’s 24 intercollegiate sports. Now fans can follow their favorite Green Terror teams on Twitter, become a McDaniel Athletics insider on Facebook, subscribe to RSS feeds of Web postings, receive e-mail alerts and keep up to the minute with what’s going on in McDaniel athletics.

“It’s been well received,” said Sports Information Director Luke Stillson, who says everyone seems to find the site to be easy and efficient to use. “The coaches are really excited about the new look and the design – and especially its ease of use.”

The Green & Gold Club is the official booster society for McDaniel College Athletics. Gifts in support of varsity athletics strengthen winning school traditions and provide student-athletes with a competitive edge on the playing field.
