Reunion Weekend finds 50th classmates Forever Young
Over one-third of alumni from the Class of 1964 rallied on the Hill during a glorious first weekend in May where classmate Barry Lazarus traveled from Colorado with wife Fran and shared their story as contestants on the reality TV show, “The Amazing Race,” which took them from Denver to Sao Paolo, Brazil, to Moscow, Russia.
Also returning from Colorado was Fred Wooden, who reunited with his sophomore year roommate Stan Sunderland, who now hails from Georgia. Many WMC memories were shared including the origin of the Aloha yearbook reference "Letterman in sophomore year," when students engaged in an infamous water battle that ultimately soaked the military science department's artillery and resulted in not athletic letter honors, but disciplinary letters from the Dean of Students.

Class president George Gebelein known for his spirited costumes at Homecoming parades prompted his classmates to show their zeal for their alma mater with a zany class photo marking this 50th anniversary and “Forever Young” thematic weekend. Members of the Class of 1959 also were on campus and college President Roger Casey gave the “State of the College” address on Saturday afternoon.
Classes of 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009 & 2013 will celebrate on Homecoming, October 25, 2014. If you would like to help with the planning of these Homecoming reunion classes, please contact Robin Adams Brenton ’86 in the alumni office at email@example.com.
