Seven students represent McDaniel College at Maryland Independent Higher Education Day

Seven students from McDaniel College gathered in Annapolis, Md., on Feb. 9 for Maryland Independent Higher Education Day.

McDaniel president Roger Casey and Herb Smith, director of government relations and political science professor, accompanied the students, including first-year students Erin Giles from La Vale, Md., and Natalie Price from Elkton, Md., sophomore Alan Lyons, political science and international studies major from Westminster, Md., junior Megan Rogers, political science and international studies major from Ellicott City, Md., seniors Ashley Day, political science and international studies major from Baltimore, Edward Jefferson, environmental studies major from Pasadena, Md., and graduate student Mary Grace Pazmany of Olney, Md.

Organized by the Maryland Independent College and University Association (MICUA), the Maryland Community College Association and Morgan State University, more than 200 college students and administrators from across Maryland visited with their elected officials in Annapolis and took part in special activities.
