Junior Vicci Alexander of Annapolis, Md., was named the Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore James Lillie of Garret Park, Md., finishes second overall in men's golf action to lead McDaniel to a team victory Oct. 6-7 at its own Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic.
Alexander led the Green Terror (6-5, 2-3 CC) to a 2-0 week, making 14 saves, including 12 in a 1-0 overtime win Oct. 7 over No. 12 Catholic. She finished the week with a 0.47 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in 148 minutes, 36 seconds. For the season, she has a 0.42 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in 168 minutes between the pipes.
In men’s golf action, Lillie carded a two-round score of 147 to finish second overall and lead McDaniel to a team victory Oct. 6-7 at its own Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic.
The Green Terror combined to fire a 308 on Oct. 6 and hold a seven-stroke lead on the field. McDaniel backed that round up with a 297 at The Bridges Golf Club in a cooler, wetter second round on Oct. 7 to finish with a 605 and outdistance the field of 11 college teams by 18 strokes. Dickinson was second overall with a 623 (316-307).
