McDaniel wrestling coach and 2003 alumnus Davey Blake was recently inducted into the Maryland State Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Blake, who just completed his fifth season as the head coach of the Green Terror and ninth total on staff, was a three-time Maryland State champion and a four-time state finalist. He recorded a high school career record of 141-2. Blake was a Cliff Keen All-American and Dave Schultz Award winner during his high school career before starting his collegiate career at Division I Appalachian State, where he took second at 149 in the Southern Conference in 2001, before transferring to McDaniel, where he took second place at 141 during the 2003 Centennial Conference championship meet.

Blake’s father, Art '71, was inducted into the same Hall of Fame in 1999.
