KJ Mazurek (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) carded a 75 March 17 to finish tied for second overall and lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at the Myrtle Beach Shootout in men’s golf action. Playing its first competitive round of the spring, the Green Terror posted a combined score of 311 at the Maples Course at Sea Trail.
Elyse Massa (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) fired a career-low round of 85 to lead McDaniel to a 360-433 victory over New York University March 17 in women’s golf action. In the first action of the spring, all five Green Terror players posted scorers lower than the five NYU players to earn the victory.
Mike Hatton (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and Kenny McHugh (Westminster, Md./Calvert Hall), seniors on the McDaniel men’s lacrosse team, have been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Players of the Week for the week ending Mar. 8. Hatton earned the offensive nod after scoring six goals and handing out four assists in a pair of victories. In McDaniel’s 10-7 win over Widener, he netted a career-best five goals to go with one assists before tallying a goal and three assists in an 18-7 victory over Virginia Wesleyan. McHugh took the defensive honor, making 27 saves to lead the Green Terror (3-0) in goal. In McDaniel’s March 7 win, he made a career-best 21 saves. He finished the week with a .675 save percentage and 7.07 goals-against average for the week.
No. 9 Washington (Md.) snatched a 9-8 overtime Centennial Conference (CC) victory March 21 at McDaniel. A week earlier on March 14, Gibbs Preston (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) scored just once, netting the game-winner 1:13 into the first overtime period to give McDaniel a 9-8 victory over Connecticut College in non-conference men’s lacrosse action. Mary Washington scored an 8-7 overtime victory March 11 in non-conference play.
Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster) matched her career high with seven goals to lead McDaniel to a 15-8 victory over Ursinus March 21 in the Centennial Conference (CC) women’s lacrosse opener for both teams.
Chelsea Ferruzzi (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) recorded four of her game-high five goals in the first half March 17 to stake McDaniel to an 8-5 halftime advantage over Lycoming en route to a 12-11 non-conference women’s lacrosse victory.

Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster) capped her fourth hat trick in as many games this season, breaking a 10-all deadlock with 42.8 seconds remaining and lifting McDaniel to an 11-10 victory March 10 over Elizabethtown in non-conference women’s lacrosse action.
Rob Kelvey (Westminster, Md./Westminster) notched a pair of first-place finishes, including setting a meet record in the 5,000 to pace McDaniel March 21 at the Dragon Invitational hosted by Howard Community College in men’s and women’s outdoor track and field action.
