McDaniel won the team title at the 2008 Centennial Conference men’s golf championships at The Bridges Golf Club May 3-4. Entering the final round trailing Muhlenberg by four strokes, the Green Terror combined to a shoot a 304 to win by 17 strokes over the Mules and capture its fifth CC crown and automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships on May 13-16 at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga.

Two members of the McDaniel College softball team have been named to the 2008 All-Centennial Conference (CC) team. Diana Rosemier ’08 earned first-team honors while classmate Karyn Curley ’08 was tabbed as an honorable mention. Rosemier, a center fielder, led the team in 10 offensive categories. In addition to hitting a team-best .330, she rapped out seven doubles and two triples for a .431 slugging percentage. She led the team with 36 hits and 31 runs scored. She also drew 17 walks from the leadoff position. Curley, a first baseman, ranked fifth on the team in batting average at .265. She recorded 30 base knocks, leading the team with 10 doubles. She added 13 runs scored and 16 RBIs. McDaniel finished the season at 13-23 overall and 7-9 in CC play.

Jon Zimmerman ’09, a junior on the McDaniel College baseball team, has been named to the 2008 All-CC team. Zimmerman, the starting second baseman, earned an honorable mention nod after hitting .301 on the season. He rapped out 37 hits, including two doubles and three triples, and scored 23 runs on the season. The Green Terror finished the season at 13-19 overall (9-9 CC), including finishing the season with wins in seven of its final 10 games.

At the CC men’s and women’s outdoor track and field championships May 2-4, Chris Stinnette ’09 finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles to lead McDaniel to a 9th place finish. The McDaniel women placed 10th with six points.

In CC men’s lacrosse action April 26, Dickinson beat McDaniel 11-10 in overtime. In CC women’s lacrosse semifinals April 26, Franklin & Marshall beat McDaniel 18-6.
