‘Swine flu’ pumpkin takes top prize

November 02, 2009

Taking a break from hitting the books, McDaniel students and staff last week celebrated FallFest on the Hill with a good old-fashioned Pumpkin Carving Contest on Memorial Plaza. About 30 pumpkins were carved and decorated during this year’s event, which Student Affairs sponsored.

Ken Ditto, a support services clerk in the campus Post Office, carved the winning pumpkin, “Swine Flu.” It remains on display, appropriately enough, in the Wellness Center.
