McDaniel makes media headlines

Over the last two months, McDaniel College faculty and students have been featured in local and national publications, as well as on television. The stories showcased faculty as experts in their fields and profiled McDaniel's unique and diverse student body.

International macroeconomist Dr. Kevin McIntyre answered Baltimore Sun readers' questions about gas prices, as Hurricane Rita barreled toward the Gulf Coast. He was prominently featured Sept. 23 on the front page of the Baltimore Sun Web site.

Christina Marie Duvall '05 was selected by the Wall Street Journal as "Best in Class" for 2005 Student Achievement. She was named Sept. 22 in the WSJ.

Freshman Thorne Rintel was featured in the San Diego Union Tribune Sept. 17 in a story about students taking a year off between high school and college. Rintel took a year before college to teach in Costa Rica and Belize.

Assistant Professor of Psychology Stephanie Madsen's research about teen dating habits was featured prominently Sept. 8 in the Wall Street Journal. The article was titled "The Case for Going Steady: Studies Say Teen Dating Habits Affect Marriage Skills."

The Carroll County Times featured Tulane freshman Jason Rosenberg and Loyola New Orleans freshman Jackie Mabry Sept. 13, when they enrolled at McDaniel College for the fall semester after Hurricane Katrina shut down their schools.
