“The Importance of Being Earnest” is a comedy of manners, first performed in 1895. It tells the tale of two friends who lie about their identities, and the romantic trouble they get into because of it. “Othello,” written around 1603, is the tragic story of a husband’s jealousy over his wife’s possible infidelity.
For years, McDaniel College has served as the first stop for the Players, America’s longest-running classical touring company. The group then travels state-to-state for audiences across the country: from inner-city schools to rural America.
Players’ productions stick to strict traditions of touring theater: company members double and triple in roles and technical assignments like lighting, sound, and costumes.
