Rice Gallery

The Esther Prangley Rice Gallery offers students the unique opportunity to see artwork created by both regional and national contemporary artists working in a variety of media, and a variety of styles. Students also have the opportunity to meet with the artists and talk to them about their work, and often receive critiques from the artists about their own work. Students in Ars Nova (the art club) get the unique experience of helping to install and de-install exhibitions, often working directly with the artist. On several occasions the artists have allowed the students to curate the show for them.
For the student exhibitions students curate and install the exhibition, as well as design the announcements for the exhibitions, giving them a complete sense of ownership and responsibility for the exhibitions that showcase their works and talents.
