Recent Jan Term Participants:

“I took the Bahamas trip with Dr. Morrison. It was an awesome trip. We had some rough living accommodations but it made it all the more fun. We snorkeled almost every day and my favorite parts were seeing sea turtles and three huge nurse sharks.” — Dani Allen ’13

“I thoroughly enjoyed my Jan Term experience. I took the class focusing on the Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis, which I loved reading as a child. The class helped me remember that studying can be fun when the material is interesting, not just something that comes with pre-exam stress.” — Morgan Thomas ’13

Off-Campus Study Tour Offerings

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

January Term offers the opportunity for an intensive — and often unusual — three weeks of study, where you can explore something new, take on an internship or study abroad. One Jan Term is included in your tuition, although plenty of McDaniel students keep coming back for more. Depending on the year, you might take a course in Latinos in Hollywood, debate politics in Cameroon or snorkel and dive off a remote Bahamian island.
