SCUBA Diving the World: Belize
SCUBA Diving the World is a 15-day study tour Jan Term course that allows students to explore the culture and underwater environment of a world-renowned dive location.
This year’s location is the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. The central-american country of Belize is one of the premier dive locations in the western hemisphere. It is perfect for scuba diving. Belize is one of the most progressive eco-tourism destinations in the world. Students will also have a chance to participate in two important community outreach projects.
Students are not required to have prior SCUBA training or have SCUBA certification to sign up for this course. Students without prior experience will receive all necessary training and will obtain full (lifetime) SCUBA certification as part of the trip. Students who already have SCUBA certification will have the opportunity to obtain advanced dive training in a specific area during the trip. In addition to the daily dives students will also be required to keep a dive log detailing each dive and a course journal, documenting their experience on the trip. A passport is required for this trip.
The cost of this trip is approximately $2,900 (SCUBA certified) and $3,150 (non-SCUBA certified). The cost includes airfare, accommodations, all dive training and scheduled dives, some meals, dive equipment, and an island tour. The cost does not include gratuities and spending money.
