We begin in Madrid, Spain’s capital. Our visit to this vibrant city will include the Prado Museum; students may also visit the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía to see Picasso’s “Guernica” and other modern works. We will travel to the Mediterranean coast to visit Valencia, with a guided tour of the new “City of Arts and Sciences” designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. Moving north along the coast, we will have a guided tour of the Roman ruins at Tarragona. Our stay in Barcelona will be highlighted by visiting buildings designed by Antoni Gaudí, and a visit to the Picasso Museum. There will be a side-trip to Figueras to visit the Salvador Dalí Museu, and to the old city of Girona.
