Study Abroad
Welcome to the world of study abroad! Study abroad is not a "time out" from college, but rather the opportunity for students to spend a semester, summer, January Term, or full year learning about themselves and deepening their knowledge in an academic area of interest.
McDaniel College is a great place for adventurous students who want to see the world and be better prepared to live in a global society. We have our own branch campus and national study abroad site in Budapest, Hungary -- McDaniel Europe. Additionally, we have Student Exchange Programs with Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis in Brussels, Belgium and with Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe. All financial aid and McDaniel scholarships can be applied to these three programs.
We have numerous College-affiliated programs in six continents and major cities around the world. A special study abroad opportunity is available specifically for McDaniel's Honors students, University of Glasgow Honors Program, which is offered in conjunction with the University of Glasgow in Scotland and a consortium (Principia Consortium) of other colleges in the U.S. Participation in the Glasgow Honors Program counts for two (out of four) Honors Program electives.
Each year during January Term, McDaniel faculty also lead groups of students to exotic locations abroad.
Arranging for study abroad is easy and affordable. Stop by the International Programs Office in Hill Hall 105 to meet with the Director of International and Off-Campus Study, Rose Falkner, to discuss program options and the application process.
