Visit Options: Fall 2021 Admitted Students

We know that choosing a college isn’t easy and it’s especially challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic. All of us here at McDaniel College wish we could provide you the traditional admitted student experiences, including our Admitted Student Days where we all come together to celebrate your success.

But we have been working hard to create a variety of activities to help you in your decision-making process! We’re pleased to offer both virtual and in-person experiences. And you are welcome to attend more than one, really digging into what makes McDaniel special and why we believe it’s the best place for your next step.

Virtual One-on-One Office Hours with Faculty

We know that the quality of the academic experience is at the heart of your college decision-making, and we want to ensure you have a private opportunity to speak with faculty directly about what you can expect. Our virtual office hours give you the chance to join departmental faculty for 20 minute private conversations. You’ll get a chance to connect with professors, ask your questions about the curriculum, learn about research opportunities and more.

Virtual Appointments are offered every half an hour between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Because these sessions are individual, time slots are limited and scheduling is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students with multiple academic interests are welcome to register for more than one department meeting on a space-available basis.

On Your Own Two Feet Campus Experience

Visiting campus and talking to current students and staff is an important step in making your enrollment decision, and we know we can offer a safe on-campus visit opportunity for you,

In our On Your Own Two Feet program, you and a small group of 10-12 other guests will be led through an in-depth campus experience with stops featuring current students, alumni and staff who will share details about the McDaniel experience while answering your questions. This enhanced campus tour is designed to showcase special aspects of the McDaniel experience you don’t always see on a standard tour.

The day ends with a reception, a chance to walk the green carpet we’ve rolled out for you, and time to shop (safely and socially distanced!) at the campus store.

Each event is limited to 50 students—and due to health and safety protocols, each student is allowed a maximum of one guest. You’ll be divided into a small group of no more than 15 and masks will be required, even outdoors. Wear your walking shoes—you’ll be walking over 2 miles and depending on weather, it could be muddy!
