Olympic dreams came true this summer when Suzanne Stettinius ’11 found out she qualified as one of only three pentathletes representing the U.S. in the London games.
Ron Shriver ’12
One of McDaniel’s news alumni, Ron Shriver ’12, is a veteran, husband and father of two who was able to achieve his dream of going to college, thanks to financial support from the new GI Bill and McDaniel College. Rhonda Holmes-Blankenship '05
For the second time in three years, a master's graduate has been named Maryland Teacher of the Year. Rhonda Holmes-Blankenship '05, an English teacher at Rising Sun High School in Cecil County, Md., was named the 2012-13 Maryland Teacher of the Year. A National Board Certified Teacher, she holds a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel. Read more in the Cecil Whig.
Tom Armbruster ’80
Tom Armbruster ’80 was nominated by President Obama to serve as Ambassador to the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Department of State. He shared his world view as a career foreign service officer who has held posts in Finland, Cuba, Russia, Mexico, Tajikistan and Vladivostok during the 2011 series SmartTalk at McDaniel.
