Prof. Yomar S. Cardona was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is an experienced educator with more than 25 years of experience. She is currently a Spanish Teacher at Northwest High School, in Montgomery County. She has been an Educational Consultant in multiple places and is the author of the upcoming book The New Global Education System (NGES). Prof. Cardona also served as Adjunct Faculty at University Ana G. Mendez in Silver Spring, MD, teaching Spanish and Leadership in Education as well as courses on Curriculum, Management and Budgeting and Administration in Public Health.
Prof. Cardona holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education to teach Spanish at the Secondary level from University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. She holds two Masters’ degrees one on Administration and Supervision in Education and a second Master degree in Public Health Education from University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences campus. At the present, she is working on a Doctorate degree in Philosophy and Spanish Literature from Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y El Caribe.
As part of her teaching philosophy, she believes all students are capable to reach their goals and be successful in their lives if they have the resources they need and professors that support them and lead them with the appropriate teaching skills.
