    Accounting Interviewing Day 2020 is a virtual success

    It may not have been the traditional in-person Interviewing Day that Accounting, Economics and Business Administration students have known in the past, but the first half of Interviewing Day 2020 was no less successful with nine accounting firms holding 84 virtual interviews with 31 McDaniel Accounting majors. The second half of Interviewing Day continues in the spring when other majors in the Economics and Business Administration department will have the opportunity to meet with employers for internships and jobs.

    The Daily Record names Jocelyn Collins ’16 to VIP Successful by 40 list

    Jocelyn Collins ’16 has been named to The Daily Record’s 2020 VIP Successful by 40 List. As Maryland and Washington Government Relations Director for the American Cancer Society Action Network, Collins is a lobbyist who is also an advocate. “From youth, I always loved giving back and making the world a better place,” Collins told The Daily Record.

    Five McDaniel students awarded Summer Intern Fellowships

    The Summer Intern Fellowship is awarded by the CEO at McDaniel College to provide competitive awards to help defray the cost of summer internships for current students. The program is supported, in part, by generous gifts from The Rupe-Stuart Internship Award, courtesy of McDaniel College Board of Trustee member Mark Stuart M.S. '94 and Timothy Rupe, and The Nora Roberts Foundation.

    Cinema major earns prestigious national ‘Star Trek’ internship

    Cinema major Faith Young of Takoma Park, Md., has been selected as one of two fellows for the inaugural year of the national “Star Trek” Command Training Program in Los Angeles. This brand-new internship, hosted by the Television Academy Foundation in partnership with CBS Television Studios, was open to undergraduate and graduate college students nationwide and launched in 2020 to promote core values of the “Star Trek Universe.”

    Senior Spanish and Political Science major named Fulbright finalist

    Ravi Patel, a senior at McDaniel College, has been named a Fulbright finalist for an English Teaching Assistant Award in Indonesia. Patel is a double major in Spanish and Political Science with a specialization in International Studies. He has traveled to 27 countries around the world, but there’s one place he has not reached yet.
