    Elly Engle, assistant professor of Environmental Studies, was recently recognized with the Early Career Award from the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences. Engle discussed her down-to-earth approach to hands-on learning in the campus gardens, the Agrifood Program, Food Fellows, and plans for a local seed library.

    Not only did Elementary Education major Mackenzie McBride land a full-time teaching position as a fourth-grade teacher for this fall, she also was honored as both a Distinguished Teacher Candidate by the Maryland Association of Teacher Educators and a Teacher of Promise by the Maryland State Department of Education.

    McDaniel College announces its Spring 2022 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

    Vanessa Flora-Nakoski and Diane Williams have earned awards from the college — the 2022 Nora Roberts Faculty Service Award and the Distinguished Scholars Award, respectively — that will support their planned initiatives in research scholarship and student enrichment.

    During the Spring 2022 semester, six students participated in the Maryland Student Legislature annual session in Annapolis, Maryland, and 19 students attended the National Model United Nations in New York City. Additionally, 13 students were newly named National Security Fellows.

    Ridington and Argonaut awards presented at Commencement

    English major Rebecca H Halaney and Physics major Kaitlyn Marie Bowser were honored with The Edith Farr Ridington Writing Award for writing the best senior papers. Five undergraduates were tied for the highest cumulative GPA and were recipients of the Argonaut Award: Jessia Marie Avila, Kaitlyn Marie Bowser, Kaitlyn Nicole Holstein, Jonah Warman Ruskin, and Cara E Woolston.
