Relief Package for Fall 2020 Admitted Students

Last week, McDaniel College president Roger Casey asked every member of our campus—our trustees, our professors, our coaches, and all our administrative support staff—to think of ways we can make life easier and better for all the students who have been admitted here.

His goal was to ensure all our admitted students can continue to pursue their dream of going to college. And if you think McDaniel is a good fit, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to choose us.

That’s why we’re rolling out the following measures to help students and families make their transition to McDaniel:

  • $1,000 Relief Grant For All New Students In addition to all other grants, scholarships, and aid you qualify for, McDaniel is giving Relief Grants of $1,000 to all new freshmen students who make their deposit and enroll at McDaniel in Fall 2020.
  • Deposit Deadline Extension, Now June 1 We have moved our deposit deadline from May 1 to June 1. We know you’re dealing with a lot right now, and we want you to take the time you need to make your college choice.
  • Free Summer Course in 2021 All new freshmen who enroll in Fall 2020 will have the opportunity to take a summer class in the 2021 term for free. We hope you view this as evidence of McDaniel’s long-term commitment to you—from now, to next summer, to the day you have your college degree.

Graduation and Other Uncertainties

We encourage you to continue to engage in learning as you complete your senior year. It is in your best interest to take advantage of any and all resources your school is providing for virtual or alternative learning to best prepare you for the rigorous curriculum you will encounter as a student at McDaniel.

However, we understand the extraordinary circumstances of COVID-19 and its impact on our admitted students and their schools. Though students intending to enroll in the fall will need to have satisfied their high school’s graduation requirements, we will be understanding of the variety of ways in which schools decide to wrap up the current academic year and will not disadvantage students based on these circumstances.

Events and Visits

The Office of Admissions has cancelled all prospective student and admitted student events and daily visits on the McDaniel campus due to concerns about the current and potential impact of COVID-19. This decision was based on the advice of our health partners to protect the health and safety of our guests and employees.

However, the admissions team has been working behind-the-scenes to develop other opportunities for you to Meet McDaniel! Learn more about how to schedule your visit here.
