The Office of Residence Life works with transfer students to manage their room placements for the Fall. Learn more about where you will be living and what to expect from the residential experience at McDaniel.
Special Housing Requests: On occasion, students have medical or other concerns that require special room assignments. download the special housing request form. Forms should be submitted to the Office of Residence Life.
Parking permits cost $300 per year. You will indicate your desire to secure a parking permit in your Housing and Roommate Matching Application. Commuter students need to fill out the parking registration form with Campus Safety directly through the Portal.
You've chosen a meal plan. Now, where do you eat? The dining experience at McDaniel College is based around fresh food and community. With more than 80% of students living on campus, sharing a meal is a central part of the McDaniel experience. And you'll do that while enjoying food that is is freshly prepared by our chefs. We offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options, and label all menu items accordingly.

The Office of Residence Life sends housing confirmation, via your McDaniel College email address, in August and will notify you when assignments are ready to be viewed on the housing website. Your assignment will include your roommate's name and their McDaniel email address. Once you receive this information, feel free to contact your roommate(s) to start getting to know them and to decide who's bringing what.
Representing McDaniel College in the classroom and on the field?
In addition to the health forms required by the College, McDaniel Athletics requires all student-athletes to fill out additional forms to be eligible to practice or compete in intercollegiate athletics. Add these required forms to your "To Do List".
All new students should plan on attending New Student Orientation.
The New Student Orientation events assist you in your transition to McDaniel, both academically and socially. There is time to get settled in your hall, get to know classmates, meet professors, and figure out where your classes take place on campus. By the time classes start, you'll feel like a Green Terror!

The goals of the Orientation Program are:
To support transfer students as they begin their McDaniel experience.
To promote engagement with the values of the McDaniel community.
To provide accurate and relevant information about the McDaniel community.
To create opportunities and offer experiences in academic and social settings in which students can begin to connect with the campus community.
To support the connection of new students to faculty, staff, administration and other students at McDaniel with opportunities to start and build relationships.
To create opportunities for new students to connect with campus departments, offices and programs that will support student success at McDaniel.
To provide students with opportunities to discuss and reflect, in a supportive environment, on any fears and anxieties about starting college.
To establish a strong network and foundation in which students can move forward to a successful semester.
Should the start of the fall semester be delayed for any reason, Orientation dates and plans are subject to change.

Join us for the Involvement Fair! Kick off the new academic year at McDaniel's annual Involvement Fair. Join us for an outdoor picnic, meet student leaders and learn about ways to get involved on campus. There's always something to do on the Hill with the more than 80 student organizations, including Greek life and intramural sports. If you don't see the organization you are looking for, contact the Office of Student Engagement to find out how you can start it yourself!
