Emergency Relief Fund

McDaniel College is committed to providing individualized attention for all of our students, meeting them where their needs are greatest. In 2020, the Emergency Relief Fund was established in response to the global pandemic and the urgent need for technology and internet access as students transitioned to remote learning. As it has evolved, the intent of the fund remains—to ensure that students have the resources needed to be successful and are not hindered by financial barriers. This can include technology, internet access, books, and financial support beyond a student's financial aid package.

Meeting Critical Needs

2020 brought challenges unlike any we have encountered before. Time and again, our alumni and friends asked, "How can I help?" So many came forward to show McDaniel students that, although the road is unknown, they could always count on the McDaniel community to travel alongside them. Together, we established the Emergency Relief Fund and raised more than $100,000 for laptops, hotspots and other critical needs. Together, we outfitted classrooms with the technology needed to bring McDaniel to students who are unable to be on campus. Together, we ensure that those who can return are safe and have the resources they need to continue on their path to success.

Keeping McDaniel Accessible

More than 90% of McDaniel students receive some form of financial aid, but sometimes this still is not enough to bridge the gap between tuition and need. The Emergency Relief Fund will provide grants for students whose need is over and above their financial aid packages. Your support helps guarantee that all McDaniel students have an opportunity to complete their journey on the Hill, regardless of personal circumstances.
