Education

Teaching is my passion and my life’s work. Born and raised in Maryland, my mother was a teacher who instilled in all four of her children that education is an achievement that, once you earn it, is yours forever. She also taught me that education was the key that opened the door to dreams. After four years in Western Pennsylvania earning my teaching degree, I returned to Maryland to teach. I also earned my M.S. and later a certificate in Educational Leadership. After thirty-one years as a teacher, administrator and senior leader in Frederick County Public Schools, I am here at McDaniel to support those who see teaching as the key they can give to the dreamers in classrooms today. I view the work of building teachers as a moral obligation – our society needs the best and the brightest in classrooms to serve a complex generation of learners.
